ALEX BODNAR
Bio

Alex Bodnar was born 1983 with a guitar pick in one hand and a paint brush in the other. Growing up in a family of artists and musicians, Alex began to develop his creativity from a very young age.

By 21, Alex was already touring with number one charting artists around the world. Alex has played guitar for multi-platinum selling artists such as Hikaru Utada, RBD, and Course of Nature. He is currently a band member and one of the main songwriters for Scott Stapp (former lead singer of Grammy award winning band "CREED"). A new Scott Stapp album and world tour is in the works for the summer of 2008.

When Alex is not on stage or in the recording studio, he is continuously working on his art. Alex's art is an ongoing exploration of faces and personalities. "What makes life exciting is that we have the opportunity to create something everyday".

Statement

Through out life, itıs hard not to notice how everything in the universe is intertwined and blended together forming an elegant whole structure. No seemingly separate piece in existence was or ever will be separate from the whole. My art is an exploration of this unified structure of existence.

In 1995, I began a series of black and white works on paper with ink, in which multiple faces and bodies were blended together to form whole structures.

In 2007, I started to develop the conjoined faces theme in a whole new way, with the use of color oils and acrylic paints on canvas and oil pastels on paper. This series is certainly about color, three dimensional perspectives and more solid structures. The main emphasis of these works are to explore not only the way the universe is, but to also look at the many different emotions and desires that people experience and how they effect all the people around them. The way you feel will influence others and vise versa. Each conjoined face becomes its own personality making the accumulative sum, a close up look at a piece of consciousness.
